Seriously?

Why is it 99 degrees out today?!?!? Fall wherefore out thou? I just put up my Halloween decorations yesterday, doesn't that count for something??? :(

Beach trip Day #2 - Pismo!

Saturday we woke up and started getting everything together for our big day at the beach. We had planned to stay in the sand and water ALL DAY. David had bought a lil bbq and we were gonna have hot dogs, chips, fruit, and had our lil ice chest full of drinks. We were also waiting for my inlaws to show up to spend some time with us. So we made a quick run to the grocery store (and Starbucks!) and headed to Pismo. The kids and David got in the water as soon as we set up camp and I busted out the camera and my book to keep me busy :) We all ended up getting sunburnt that day but other than that it was a blast! I think we were out there from about 10-4!




We packed up our stuff, drove my inlaws to their car, and headed to our other fave beach restaurant - McClintock's. MMMMM David's parents had never eaten here so it was alot of fun to share it with them. The food here is sooo yummy and the servings are HUGE. One of the unique things they do here is have a guest hold a cup on their head while a server stands on a chair behind them, BLINDFOLDED, raises the pitcher up high and pours ice cold water into the glass - well HOPING that they make it! So we volunteered David's dad to be the lucky participant. He had no clue what was going on so it was hilarious to watch :) We also had them sing Happy Birthday to Colby - a lil early :) He got a yummy dessert, his picture taken, and a coupon for the lil gift shop and for our next visit. He picked out a stuffed buffalo and named him BUFFY

Day #2 was coming to an end and it was really hard to believe that we still had 5 more wonderful days to enjoy!

Beach trip Day #1 - Morro Bay

We left on a Friday mid morning. It seemed like it took FOREVER to get out of town! We had to do some cleaning first because my brother and his family were coming to house sit. Then we had to load a week's worth of clothes, food, kitchen utensils, toys, books, beach towels, bath towels, etc. for a family of four into the back of our van. IT WAS FULL!!!! Then we had to go by the bank, get gas, and drop off our car payment before we could FINALLY drive out of Bakersfield!
We are lucky enough to have "inherited" a beach house. My mom married a really amazing dude about 6 years ago, Poppie, and his family co-owns a beach house in Los Osos. It's about 10-15 minutes away from Morro Rock if you're familiar with the area.

After our long drive we had to be the "mean parents" and make the kids take a nap, cause WE needed one! LOL When everyone woke up we headed to the beach by the rock to meet up with some friends that happened to be in town also. It was shortlived but alot of fun at the same time. We got our first taste of sand and the COLD water and got some cute pics as well.

After we said goodbye to our friends we headed back to the house for another fave beach pastime of ours - Round Table Pizza MMMMMMMM The kids don't care for it too much cause it's spicy but it sure is tasty as long as you have a big drink close by :) It's something that David and I look forward to with every trip. We also watched some videos and played with the special Beach House Toys and then we all hit the hay in our most comfortable beach house beds!

The Bloggy Blues

My blog didn't get very much attention over the past month. I posted some pretty random stuff but not really much about our lives has been mentioned! That's an entire 31 days that for the most part went undocumented! EEK! I had hoped to catch up on that this past week but it just didn't happen. I did get all of my pictures uploaded but after that there was no time for writing!
We leave tomorrow for our weeklong vacation and with that many more pictures and events to be documented. So my plan is to blog as much as I can about July while I'm gone and then be ready to start with August when we come back! Now the internet connection at the beach house is sketchy at best (i.e. we'll be stealing the neighbors wi-fi unless I can sneak away to Starbucks!) so I'll probably be writing in WORD and posting it all when I can. So stay tuned for The Gagos in July :)

Today was Day 1 of my kids' first Vacation Bible School ever. (sorry no pictures :( )
After some nervousness this morning - they didn't know anyone - they came home totally counting down until tomorrow!
I asked Colby what he learned about today and he said "Just Jesus!" :)

Today was the LAST day of school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So excited for a break in day to day traveling but so sad to say goodbye to all of our wonderful friends!
