Hello Mr Fall!!!

Anywho, I know it's not official yet, and this is Bakersfield for crying out loud. But it is really starting to look and feel like fall around here and not just at Starbucks or the Hershey's kisses factory!!!! The swimming suits are packed away till next year, the beach towels have transformed back into bath towels (am I the only one that does that?), I actually wore a long sleeve shirt yesterday (granted, it was thing and I rolled up the sleeves but still!!!!), and I am dying to get out my fall decor!! My mommy brought me this lil guy a few weeks ago and he is in much need of accesories! :) That will hopefully happen next weekend depending on my homework load.

Decorating the Homestead

Now that I'm not working, I have a lil bit more time to finally start decorating our home (a year later!) the way we've wanted it. I got a hankering to do a lil fancying up of my laundry room - of all places! I told my mom that I never thought I'd be so excited to have a nice purdy place to wash clothes LOL But after years of laundromat visits, and if you consider how much time I spend in there! It's a no brainer :)

Awhile back I was inspired by this gal and although mine is no where near as purdy-full as hers, it's definitely coming along!





I have plans to paint the walls lavendar and the shelf (and trim?) black. I have a few more cream colored accessories to add and I also want to doll up my containers a bit with ribbons and what nots. I wish I had a before picture. That shelf was CRAMMED with cleaning supplies! I am really enjoying the nice clean look of the containers and having "a place for everything, and everything in its place"!

O Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree

We got THE biggest tree either one of us has ever had! Not sure the exact measurements but it is definitely somewhere between 8 & 9 feet! GINORMOUS!



Last Sunday was FINALLY the big day! The kids and I had been buggin the Coach for our tree since Thanksgiving! We set out to a tree lot not very far from our house that the kids had picked out weeks ago. Rex was somewhat hesitant but that seems to be his stance for all things off our schedule these days. We walked through the whole lot before hitting the jackpot of giant trees for only $30!!! SCORE! After some discussion amongst the 4 of us - the kids wanted a little tree so Daddy had to pull rank ;) - we paid extra to get a stand put on and back home we went.


I pulled out all 3 tubs of decorations from the garage and started unwrapping. Immediately became overwhelmed by all the wonderful memories of Christmas' past. Our big ole tree fits perfectly in our living room and we had tons of fun decorating it. It does look kind of sparse, I think we need some solid BALL ornaments or garland or something to spice it up. So I don't have a picture of the full finished product because I want to add one or both of those things before I call it done :)
