Baby boy shoes

Earlier today I read this gal's post about her lil guy's new kicks. One of the pairs are exactly the same as the ones my mom bought for my boy a long, long time ago. It's hard to believe it's been almost 4 years since he wore those shoes. That thought made me search through thousands of pictures on my computer to find this. Seeing this picture, and reading Lorie's post, brought back all the memories of his pudgy lil pigeon toed feet and how hard it was to find shoes that would "fit". Now when we are shoe shopping it is more about who or what is on the shoes that will make him happy and comfortable. Not to mention the size difference!
There really is no valid point to this post. I'm just a momma with a fast growing boy that enjoys reading about other momma's and their fast growing boys. Time just flies by with these little guys! Thank goodness for pictures!

9 years

9 years ago was my wedding day. We dated for 6 months before that.

There are actually quite a few things I regret about that day and the days leading up to it. We were pretty crappy towards our parents, David's dad wasn't even at the wedding, something I will ALWAYS regret. I was in such a hurry to get out of my parent's house and on with my "dream" life that I ignored a lot of things and people that I shouldn't. I also allowed a lot of things to happen that I wished I wouldn't have. I BORROWED my dress :(. I let a lot of the bigger decisions just float by me (not to say that I am not totally and completely appreciative of everything that my mom and the rest of the family did for us, cause I am! I just wish that I had the forsight to be more PRESENT in my own wedding plans). Oh and we skedaddled out of our 'cake & punch' reception after MAYBE an hour. Ugh in some instances I have to agree that 19 is WAY young to be getting married!
This is me and my Daddy before the wedding.

Yes I wore flipflops under my dress! :)

But I do NOT regret getting married on this day 9 years ago. I do NOT regret WHO I married.
I know now that I didn't really know him then, I didn't even really know myself.
But I got lucky.
The man that I married is more than I could have ever dreamed of. WAY more than I deserve.
He is the love of my life. The father of my children. My very best friend.
I can not imagine spending the last 9 years of my life without him by my side. I hope and pray that I never, ever have to know what that kind of life would be like.
I love you baby, more than I can express.
Thank you for everyday that you've been with me.
I am so proud of all that you have become and am so grateful for all that you do for our family.
I look forward to the next 9 years with you and more!
All my love,
Your Wife

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night!

What a fun but exhausting day! Felt like blogging but have no energy to organize & edit thoughts or pictures :) So how bout a fun Christmas survey!

Egg nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot Chocolate! With a pinch of instant coffee and some Peppermint Mocha creamer MMMMMMMM

Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Usually he does, in SANTA print wrapping paper. But this year he had a hard time finding cute enough paper ( ;) ) plus the things that he brought were on the large side so he piled them all into the.biggest.gift.bag. EVER!

Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Colors please! White is too "vanilla" for me!

Do you hang misteltoe?
Yes! This year it was hung in the arch that leads to the hallway. I have enjoyed many kisses under it this year from the hubs AND my babes :)

When do you put your decorations up?
The weekend after Thanksgiving

Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Unwrapping our childhood ornaments every year.

When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I'm sorry, what truth? Cause round these parts, if you don't believe in Santa, you don't get gifts!!!

How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
Colored lights, a lit star on top, homemade and specially bought ornaments from our childhood and the kids last 5 & 6 years. They are all touchable and lovable!

Snow! Love it or dread it?
It's great to look at and play in for a bit. I wish we got more here but I know I'd probably hate it if we had TONS.

Do you remember your favorite gift?
I think that would be a toss up between the year I got my own phone line - 631-BUNS thankyouverymuch :) and the year my mom set me up with contacts.

What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you?
Teaching my kids (and remembering myself) the true meaning for the holidays, spending copious time with family, friends, and good food is fabu too!

What is your favorite holiday dessert?
I think that would be the Pretzel Hugs I made this year. I used Candy Cane flavored Hugs this time and they were SO yummy!!!

What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Putting cookies out for Santa and reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and the Christmas story from the Bible.

What tops your tree?
A star with colored lights.

Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
BOTH!

What is your favorite Christmas song?
O Holy Night and the one that Aly & Aj came out with a few years ago - The Greatest Time of Year

Candy canes?
Yes! Especially in hot cocoa :)

Favorite Christmas movie?
The Santa Clause movies! You know, the ones with Tim Allen.

What do you leave for Santa?
Cookies & Milk
