After the storm on Friday, I figured this weekend would be a perfect time to go up the mountain for a Snow Day! Well, yesterday probably would have been a better choice but we chose today instead. It has been VERY windy all weekend but the Grapevine was open, albeit VERY rainy, but otherwise not so rough! It was very weird to be about 2 miles from the mountains and not see 'em! We finally made it to Frazier Park and found place to play that was already populated. We got out of the van in the icy rain, layered up the kids, grabbed our gear and headed out into the snowy, muddy, white/brown goodness! :) It was so much fun to watch the kids faces! This was the first REAL snow that they'd ever been in. We took them to play in some snow at the local ice rink last year but that was made from a machine. Sister even asked "Where does the snow come from?" So cute! And Brother had fallen asleep on our way and his eyes just LIT UP when he woke up to see the white all around us! For once they didn't fight us about what clothes they were wearing, or keeping their jackets zipped. It was COLD!!!! I think our day would have been more enjoyable without the rain but still fun nonetheless. We definitely need to get some better snow gear! Our lil knit gloves were sopping after our ONE HOUR adventure. LOL Yup after about an hour in the rain we (well all of us but Sister!) were ready to pack it up and head to the nearest drive thru! :) We changed into some dry clothes and snuggled up for the rid back down. We left this morning a lil after 10 and got back home just before 2 :) I hope the kids remember this day, here are some pictures to freeze those memories!
