It sure is hard getting back into the swing of things after a nice 4 day holiday break!

I'd been thinking about doing this post tonight and then I saw this over on Baby Rabies. It is basically EXACTLY what I was thinking!

What happened to Thanksgiving!?!?!

Don't get me wrong, I LOOOOOOVE me some Christmas. The music, the glitter, the colors, and those fabu red cups from Starbucks.

But I also REALLY love pumpkins, Orange, November, Fall, & Thanksgiving! I mean seriously, now that I have kids, time goes by SOOOOO fast. This is a very special time of year and I want to savor EVERY moment, EVERY holiday.

So while I have been busy making and buying Christmas gifts since September, I refuse to BUY anything Christmasy or decorate my home Christmasy until AFTER Thanksgiving!

PS there is ONE good thing about stores basically skipping over Thanksgiving - the FALL CLEARANCES! There is SO much fall/Thanksgiving stuff out there at 70-80% off! Love it! :)

Procrastination at its worst

I'm in trouble. Not so much BIG trouble, but I really need to get a handle on my life and all of the goings on in it.
Did you know I was taking a college course? Notice I said A as in ONE as in UNO, singular!!!! And yet it is STILL kicking my butt. In my defense it has been quite some time since I've taken a class, it's online, and well I'm a procrastinator. UGH So now it is November and in college world that means midterms and in online class world that means - lets throw a crapload of assignments at these people that involve ALOT of time, writing, organization all in the midst of holiday season!!!! YAY!!!! :( And the thing is, the past 2 weeks have been light on the homework load which I'm guessing now was the opportunity for us to start working on those big projects that are due within the next few weeks. Wanna ask me if I took that opportunity? Please don't!
So with all that said, this blog is going to have to take a serious backburner if I'm going to come out of this alive. I have so many fun things to share with you all that date all the way back to August (my poor lil boy didn't even get a birthday dedication post like his sissy did), trips to the beach, the anniversary of David & I becoming a couple, carving pumpkins, and that just brings us up to date. When am I going to have time to blog about Halloween? Carrie Underwood? Thanksgiving (which is also my mom's birthday)? Yah we'll see ya around 2009 folks! Cause between this class, Christmas gift shopping and creating, volunteering, mothering, wife-ing, and cleaning. Oh man I'm exhausted just typing all of that! :(
I will probably still take the time to read your latest posts. I need SOME kind of outlet! I am soooo stressed out which for me equals weepy, grumpy, snappy, and just overall not a very fun person to be around!
So dear friends, I bid you adieu, for now, hopefully it won't be too terribly long!

Mother's Day

I'm still riding on my Mother's Day high. It was just a really nice & relaxing weekend and we got alot accomplished at the same time! Sadly I have NO pictures to document our weekend. How horrible is THAT!
Friday - The kids' school had a lil tea party for all the mommies and the kids made me some ADORABLE gifts! I have some pictures of this but they're not uploaded yet. Then that night we met up with my parents, sisters & brother for dinner at a local italian eatery called PLUMBERRY'S. We sat outside near a water fountain so the kids could play and the adults could chat. My sis in law had to work :( so that was a bummer.
Saturday morning we all got up and I made pancakes for breakfast. This has become pretty much a weekend staple since we moved into the house. I love cooking in my nice big kitchen! Not really too crazy about the cleaning up part though hahaha. After breakfast we headed to Lowe's so the kids could participate in a lil clinic they had going on there. It's call a Build & Grow Clinic and it looks like pretty much all the Lowe's have them twice a month. The kids get lil aprons, goggles, and get to use real hammers and nails to make a project all for FREE! It was such a blast. I have pictures of this too but again, they're not uploaded yet. We did some shopping when the class was done and also because they had given "me" a $10 off a $50 purchase in honor of Mother's Day. It is SOOOOO NOT hard to spend $50 at Lowe's! Sheesh! But we got some stuff to revamp Lacie's closet - shelf and rod that Daddy installed at her lil level. I love it! Now she can hang up and get down her own clothes! And she has a lil shelf for shoes. :)
After Lowe's we got lunch and took Lacie & David to their lil dance class -hehehe I can NOT wait to see my husband and daughter dancing together on the big stage! When they were done we headed to Best Buy - we are in desperate need of a new computer :( :) - and Walmart. Then we headed to a new restaurant in town FAMOUS DAVE'S. I guess it's a chain restaurant. We met my inlaws there and they brought me scrapbooking goodies for my gift - how sweet and rockin is that!? The food and atmosphere was WONDERFUL! We will definitely be going back. Since this was an early dinner we were able to go home and just relax instead of dragging ourselves to bed. It was really nice!
Onto Sunday - I went to bed Saturday night with a big smile on my face, almost a Christmas Eve type feeling. We had already met with all the mother's we were going to be able to see that weekend so I knew that we didn't HAVE to go anywhere on Sunday. I was sooooo looking forward to that! Even though I knew there was housework to be done I really did not mind at all. So I woke up Sunday (got to sleep in!) and the kids and David took me to Denny's for the french toast I had been craving. Then we came home and even though the hubs offered to clean the kitchen I went at it. While I was doing that, and the kids were cleaning their rooms, he was able to tackle ALOT of things that have been accumulating on his HoneyDo list - hung our flag outside, revamped lacie's closet, installed the pieces on our front door that were needed for our screen door, and also put together our new patio furniture. All this before NOON! I am so spoiled! The rest of the day was spent doing laundry, napping, and just relaxing together as a family.
Thank you baby and kiddos for a great weekend of spoiling!!! I love you 3 soooo much! You are my world and my dreams come true!

Easter!!!!!

Every holiday with us is a big shebang because of all the family that we have to visit and Easter this year was no exception!

We started out at my parents house on Saturday for BBQ dinner, dyeing eggs and a big color coordinated egg hunt.

We woke up Sunday morning and the kids hunted for their Easter baskets. The silly ole Easter Bunny hid Sister's basket in the bathtub of all places! And Brother's was found in the pantry! That Bunny sure is silly! :) They loved their filled baskets and played and played until it was time to meet up with David's parents for breakfast at Carrow's.

Then for the afternoon we went to my dad & stepmom's house for lunch and another egg hunt.

The kids made out with 3 Easter Baskets, TONS of candy, some fun lil toys, and LOTS of memories!

St Patty's Day

Belated yes I am aware!

We started out the day with some very strange looking GREEN pancakes. They weren't that big of a hit LOL

For lunch we had GREEN jello and drank 7up through GREEN straws! (sorry no pictures)

That evening, my Nana came over to babysit the kids for a few hours so that David & I could enjoy an evening alone to celebrate our 8th anniversary (which was the 18th).

So even though we didn't have a visit from any lil GREEN people like year's past, a great day was had by all :)
